LONDON, 5th July 2022: Acin, the pioneering operational risk data company, has announced that Stéphane Besson has joined the company as a senior advisor. He will support Acin as it continues to build on its position as the defining risk control data network for financial institutions.

Stéphane is the latest senior figure to join Acin, whose solution has been widely adopted by the world’s most significant financial institutions, two more of which have recently joined the data network.

Stéphane was recently the CEO of Coalition Greenwich, a leading provider of Benchmarking Analytics to the financial service industry. Prior to Coalition Greenwich, Stéphane spent 7 years at McKinsey, where he advised Global and European Corporate & Investment banks in Paris, New York, and London.

Stéphane joins Acin’s growing team of industry-leading advisors, including Tracy Clarke, formerly CEO, Europe and Americas region of Standard Chartered’s Private Bank, Sally Clark, former Chief Internal Auditor at Barclays and current NED at both Citigroup and BUPA Group Board. Other advisors and investors in the business include Cris Conde, former President and CEO of SunGard, Shea Wallon, Managing Director of Fitch Ventures, and Stephen Chandler, Managing Partner at Notion.

They are helping to guide the Acin team, which continues to transform the financial industry’s approach to operational risk control through the use of data.

Paul Ford, CEO at Acin, said: “The Acin network continues to go from strength to strength, with two more global investment banks joining in the last few weeks. Stéphane’s extensive experience in scaling businesses will be invaluable as we continue to add more banks into our network, and as we grow our presence in other sectors. He also has a proven track record within benchmarking analytics and will bring unique insights to our team.”

Stéphane Besson, Senior Advisor to Acin, said: “Having worked extensively in benchmarking and analytics, Acin’s approach to digitizing and networking operational risk data makes so much sense. More and more institutions will recognize the immense value of the information that Acin curates, and it will become an integral platform for the industry. I look forward to working with Acin as it continues to make a transformative impact on the way that firms manage their operational risk.”

About Acin

Founded in 2018, Acin has built the defining data network for operational risk control, for leading financial institutions.

Acin’s award-winning Risk Control Diagnostics platform digitizes and assures operational risk controls in a connected data network across the financial services industry.  Backed by Fitch Ratings, and trusted by JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered and other pioneers. Acin assures operational risk controls are complete, efficient and calibrated to the market.

Using technology and data science Acin is equipping financial institutions to quantify, calibrate, and visualize their operational risk control data – transforming operational risk control from a manual, qualitative and subjective discipline into one that is automated, quantitative, and robust.

Our dynamic Acin platform powers a first-of-its-kind peer-to-peer network that enables anonymized benchmarking and the sharing of collective intelligence on operational risk controls, ensuring they are complete, effective, correctly calibrated, and efficient. This empowers customers to measure, mitigate and manage operational risk more effectively, and in turn safeguard their reputation, reduce costs, and build operational resilience.

Acin is used business-wide at many of the world’s most significant financial institutions. It has achieved global industry recognition, including from the Chartis Research as a 2022 RiskTech100® ‘Rising Star’, American Financial Technology Awards 2020, Regulation Asia Awards 2020, UK FinTech Awards 2020, and was named one of the most innovative RegTech companies in 2019 and 2020.
