A role within an organization is a specific position, in relationship with other positions. Responsibilities are the activities that the role is accountable for. For example, it’s important for employees to understand the role they play within the Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) model. Within that role, employees must also understand which activities they need to perform to manage risks they engage with.
