The amount and type of non-financial risk (NFR) that an organization is willing to pursue or retain to achieve its objectives. Operational risk appetite is set by the board of directors and agreed with the executive committee. It is usually articulated in the form of a Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), which includes appetites for market and credit risks. See Risk Appetite.
