Accenture FinTech Innovation Lab 2023 Accelerator Program
Acin Founder and CEO, Paul Ford, has been announced as a finalist in the contest to win the prestigious Heropreneurs ‘Entrepreneur of the Year 2021’ award. The Heropreneurs awards celebrate the achievements of the veteran community in a commercial environment. Awards are given to those who have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset that sets them apart, regardless of size, scale or tenure of their business.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award, in partnership with Goldman Sachs, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated significant success in business over the past two years. Success takes many forms, but may include growth, profitability, flexibility, overcoming challenges and much more.
Founded by Paul in 2018, Acin is pioneering the global standard for operational risk control – a challenging issue for all financial institutions. Acin uses technology, data science and a collaborative peer-to-peer network to safeguard the world’s leading organizations.
Applying the same “all-for-one, one-for-all” philosophy Paul lived by in the Army, Acin brings financial institutions together to combat operational risks collectively, ranging from eTrading, conduct and third-party risk through to unauthorised communications and climate risk – protecting their reputations, their businesses and the industry as a whole.
Paul’s vision is to bring the Regulator onside, using Acin to monitor quality, control and discipline in financial services operational risk control.
“I am honoured and delighted to be selected as a finalist for the Heropreneurs Entrepreneur of the Year award. It is a privilege to represent ex-Armed Forces in business and to support the Heropreneurs charity.” Paul Ford
Paul believes that the qualities needed to survive and excel in the military – leadership, morale, courage, cause, discipline and integrity – have served him well in business. Paul’s nomination for the award was supported by business and military peers, including former Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Peter Wall (Paul’s former British Army Commanding Officer), who cited Paul as an exceptional leader.
Paul has applied the military fundamentals of having a cause and allying it with teamwork to build a truly exceptional business.
